At Shift Autosport, we strongly support participation in sanctioned grasroots motorsport events.  From autocross and trackdays which you can do in your daily driver, to the exciting hillclimb and road racing series, there is a place for every car enthusiast to have some fun.

We have just wrapped up our 2011 hillclimb season so below is a recap with video from each event. 

The recipe for building a competitive hillclimb car is simple: start with a lightweight car, add a powerful motor and some sticky tires.  In this case, we are talking about the Shift Autosport prepared mk1 VW Scirocco with VW's 1.8turbo motor in stock form.  We've spent a number of years developing the car, but the philosophy has always been to keep it simple with components from the VW/Audi parts bin.  The Scirocco is definitely a race car, but remains street legal, insured and is driven to all events.
